Anderson Christian Martial Arts is the private dojo of Matthew Riedner, 2nd Generation Inheritor of Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu®. ACMA was started over ten years ago by Matthew Riedner as a martial arts ministry and has since that time served as a charter school of the Christian Black Belt Association. At ACMA we believe that both the physical and spiritual development of all of our students is vital to proper training.

Our Instructors

The Head Instructor of ACMA is Sensei Matthew Riedner who holds a Godan (5th degree Black Belt) in Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu® Kenpo Karate as well as a Nidan (2nd degree Black belt) in Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do.
ACMA is excited to announce the addition of three new Assistant Instructors- Megan Smith, Rylee Smith, and Benjamin DeVault (pictured to the right). All three hold a Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu® Karate-do. |

What We Teach
Kyu students through Shodan (1st degree Black) learn primarily Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu Karate-do as developed by Dr. Clement Riedner. Although the curriculum through Shodan is focused primarily on Karate-do, students are introduced to Ju-Jitsu and Kenpo Jitsu concepts and are taught to integrate both hard and soft fist concepts into all of their technique. Starting at Shodan students begin formal training in the Ju-Jitsu and Kobudo curriculum of NSKR.
Curriculum
Through Shodan students are required to learn 12 Kata (forms), a set of 5 Ippon Kumite (one-steps), as well as the Basic Waza (technique) listed to the right.

- Kihon 1-4 (Basic forms taught to Dr. Clement Riedner while studying Motobu-ha Shito Ryu in Tokyo, Japan)
- Heions 1-5 (traditional forms developed by Anko Itosu)
- Sanchin Sho (Kamishin Ryu breathing form)
- Jitte (traditional Shorin Ryu form)
- Jeon (traditional Shorin Ryu form)
